Examination and Evaluation System
Evaluation system is based on Internal Assessment and end semester Examination - (20% in Internal Assessment and 80% in Semester Examinations)
Internal Assessment

  1. For each semester, two internal assessment tests will be held - one at the end of the 6th week of instruction and the other at the
    end of the 12th week of instruction.
  2. Marks allotted for each internal assessment is 10 marks.
  3. Best marks of the two internal examinations will be taken into account for final evaluation.

Practical Examination
Practical Examination shall be conducted for subjects where practicals are part of the curriculum.
Semester Examination
•     Elibility - 75% attendance in each Semester is mandatory for eligibility to appear for semester. On medical grounds a student is allowed to a condonation of 10% attendance on payment of a condonation fees along with the medical certificate.

  1. Semester Exams shall be conducted after the completion of 16 weeks of instruction.
  2. Candidates shall obtain a minimum of 35% marks in each subject.

Pass and Awards of Division
A candidate will be declared passed and division will be awarded at the end of IV Semester of Part I & VI Semester of Part II.

  1. 70% & above
  2. 60% & above
  3. 50% & above
  4. 40% & above

Rules of Promotion
Conditions to be ful-filled for promotion from I/III/V semester to II/IV/VI semesters.
•    No detention to move from I to II / III to IV / and V to VI Semesters.
Conditions to be fulfilled for promotion from II to III and IV / V semester
•    Must have passed at least 50% of the theory / practical papers (including additional subjects prescribed or Semester I & II
put together.)

Procedure for Revaluation
In case a student is not satisfied with the results of the end semester examination, she can apply to the controller of examinations in writing for revaluation on payment of prescribed fee within 10 days after the publication of results.

  1. If the difference is less than 10 marks between the original and revalued marks, the former will stand.
  2. If the difference is 10 marks and above the latter will be given.

Supplementary Examination

  1. Students who fail in the end Semester examination can take the supplementary exams in alternative semester only along
    with respective end semester exam.
  2. Supplementary exam may not be taken more than twice for a subject under the same syllabus.

Transitory regulation
•    Whenever there is a change in syllabus / model paper, the candidate will be allowed to appear for the failed paper with the same syllabus only for three (3) consecutive exams failing which she will have to write the exams with the new syllabus.

Improvement

  1. Only those candidates who have passed in all the subjects in a semester are eligible to apdpear for the improvement examination in the immediate next examination.
  2. The marks obtained in the improvement examination or the previous examination whichever are higher shall be considered.
  3. If the candidate is absent or fails in the improvement exami nation, the marks obtained in the previous examination stands valid.
  4. If the candidate appears for any improvement ex amination, the marks obtained there will not be considered for the award of RANKS/GOLD MEDALS/PRIZES.

Malpractice
A candidate indulging in any unfair/illegal practices viz., copy­ing/attempting to copy/possessing incriminating material - during or after examination is deemed to have committed Malpractice and is liable for punishment as per Osmania University rules.
•    A committee comprising of the Principal, Head of the Department, Invigilator and the Controller of Examination will investigate cases of malpractice.
