Women’s Cell of our college organized a Lecture on Interpersonal Skills and Relations by Potukutchi Padma for the Staff both Teaching and Non-Teaching on 14th July, 09.
A Guest Lecture on Population Explosion – A BOON or A BANE organized by the Department of Economics / NSS and Population Education Cell was on 14th July 09. Dr. Subba Reddy Director SRC addressed the students. Dr. Vijaylakshmi of SRC enlightened the students about the high problems of population growth rate.
The Women’s Cell of the college in collaboration with RAKSHA organized an induction programme for commencement of Certificate Course in Law and Justice for Women, on 17th July 2009. The duration of the course will be for 15 days.
The Department of Mathematics conducted a Talk on “Why Mathematics” In view of International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) – 2010. Prof. Kumaresan from the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, University of Hyderabad, Member, Executive organizing Committee (ICM) Central University, Hyderabad addressed the students and staff. It was an inter-collegiate programme and was held on 25th July 2009.

Student activities:
Ms. Sangeetha B.Sc (MSCS) Final Year participated in Mathematics Training and Talent Search Programme Funded by (NBHM) R.I.E, Mysore, from 18th May 2009 to June 13th 2009.
An Essay writing Competition was organized on 22nd June 2009 by Andhra Mahila Sabha for the students of our college on the Topic “Is Durgabai Deshmukh a Multifaceted Personality”.
Prajapita Bhrama Kumaris, A Socio Spiritual organization, working for World Peace launched a Nation wide youth activity programme for National Integration called “Youth Harmony Run 2009” on 28th June. About 12 students of our college participated in the Harmony Run. Participation certificates and T-Shirts were given to all the participants.
A documentary movie “Good Bad Ugly” which won the Nandi Award for the year 2009 was shown to the students. The theme of the movie delt with the present day issues. Viz., Students Migrating to Foreign country, Settling down abroad, disrespect to parents, and the new styles which students are preferring to adopt in the modern world.
Students paid homage to the War Heroes of Kargil. As a mark of respect three activities were taken up – 1) Singing Vandemataram Song 2. Floral Tribute to Martyrs 3. Peace March and Signature Camp on 28th, 29th, 30th July 2009.
NCC
A 10 days Camp at Byson Polo Grounds, Secunderabad was organized for NCC Cadets from 22nd June 2009 to 1st July 2009. Twenty students of our college participated in the Camp.
During the NCC Camp some competitions were conducted and our students secured first place in Throw Ball, Volley Ball, and Tug of War and secured the first Prize for drawing the Indian Map with Colours. Students also participated in the cultural activities.
Healthy Practices Gandhi Bhavan Meetings:
First Meeting for the year 2009-10, was organized on 12th June 2009, by the Staff and students of all the departments. A Lecture on “Gandhiji - Asthadasa Sutralu” was organized. Mr. U Mallikarjuna Sharma, Chairman, Antiliquor and Prohibition Committee, A.P. addressed the gathering. He focused on 18 sutras of Gandhiji and related those sutras to today’s lives of people and role of women

WORLD ENVIRONMENTAL DAY was celebrated on 05th June 09, in the College to create an awareness about the ill-effect of plastic usage. All the staff and students were requested not to bring PLASTICS in to the College Campus. “NO PLASTIC PLEASE” Banners were erected in the campus.

About 20 students attended a Lecture at the Osmania University. Prof. Upinder Singh addressed the gathering and spoke about the book she authored – A History of Ancient Early Medieval India- From the Stone Age of the 12th Century. The book was released in the same function by Prof. K.C Reddy Chairman, APSCHE. Prof. T. Tirupathi Rao Vice Chancellor was the Guest of Honour. The programme was jointly organized by Pearson Education, Osmania University and APSCHE on 7th Aug, 2009 at Osmania University.
